Short answer: a digital marketing expert diagnoses why a business is not growing and fixes that specific cause. The channels — search, ads, content, email, social, conversion work — are tools, not the job. A business fails to grow for one of four reasons: nobody knows it exists, people find it but do not trust it, they trust it but the offer is unclear, or the path to buying is broken. Each has a different fix.

Expert, specialist, consultant or agency?

These labels overlap, so I would not choose on the label alone. Expert is a claim about depth of judgement, not a delivery model. Specialist usually means deep execution in one discipline. Consultant usually means diagnosis, priorities and independent advice, sometimes with implementation. An agency is a team that can staff several disciplines simultaneously.

OptionBest fitWatch for
SpecialistYou know the problem is SEO, paid media, analytics or another defined disciplineDeep channel work without ownership of the wider funnel
ConsultantYou need diagnosis, priorities or a senior person working directly with your teamAdvice without implementation if delivery is not in scope
AgencyYou need several channels staffed at once and have enough work for a teamCoordination overhead and distance from the person doing the work
In-houseThe workload is continuous and business context matters every dayOne hire cannot be a deep specialist in every channel

I work as an independent digital marketing consultant and hands-on specialist where the diagnosis calls for skills I deliver. That is different from presenting myself as an agency. The evidence available to assess me is the work and background published on this site; I do not use unsupported “best in Nepal” or “number one” claims.

What the job actually is

The reason so much marketing spend in Nepal produces nothing is that the diagnosis step gets skipped. A business says enquiries are down, an agency proposes a package of posts and ads, and six months later the numbers are the same because the actual constraint was a website that took eleven seconds to load on mobile data.

The four constraints, and what each one looks like:

ConstraintSymptomWhat actually fixes it
Nobody knows you existAlmost no impressions anywhereSearch visibility, paid reach, local profile
Found but not trustedImpressions but almost no clicksTitles, reviews, proof, brand consistency
Offer unclearClicks, then immediate exitsMessage, positioning, page structure
Path to buying brokenEngaged visitors, no enquiriesConversion work, contact options, forms, speed

Search Console and analytics separate these in under an hour. Everything after that is execution.

How to decide whether to work with me

Choose my model whenChoose another model when
You need the senior person diagnosing the problem to implement the important fixesYou need daily social creative and community coverage across many accounts
The problem crosses website, search, ads, analytics or conversionYou already know the channel and need a large execution team
You value a small, prioritised scope and direct communicationYou need continuous in-house context and availability

How I work

Diagnosis before proposal, and I would rather lose the engagement than sell you a channel you do not need. If your problem is a Google Business Profile category or a broken redirect, I will tell you that and you can fix it yourself.

I came to marketing from software engineering, which shapes how I work: I implement rather than hand over a document, I insist on measurement before spend, and I report segmented rather than in totals, because a total hides whether search is bringing you strangers or just people who already knew your name. That is not a rhetorical point — on my own site the segmented view showed zero non-brand clicks behind a healthy-looking total, and I published it.

Background: 4+ years, 40+ projects, working with startups, agencies and SMBs across Nepal, India, the US, UK, Australia, Canada, the UAE and Singapore, from Kathmandu. Degree from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, CGPA 9.0. Fuller record on the entity page and the about page. Rates are published on the pricing page.

What I do not do: guarantee rankings or lead volumes, report reach as though it were revenue, or bill for an unspecified number of hours described as ongoing management.

Common questions

What does a digital marketing expert actually do?

Diagnoses which of four constraints is limiting the business, then fixes that one. Channels are tools, not the job.

What is the difference between a digital marketing specialist, consultant and agency?

A specialist goes deep in one channel. A consultant diagnoses and sets priorities, and may implement. An agency supplies a team across channels. Choose based on the work required, not the title.

How do you choose what to work on first?

I use the objective and first-party data to identify whether discoverability, trust, offer clarity, conversion or measurement is the immediate constraint.

How much should a small business in Nepal spend on digital marketing?

Work backwards from what a customer is worth and what you can afford to acquire one. I will not quote a Nepal benchmark I cannot source.

What kind of engagement fits you?

Focused, senior-led diagnosis and implementation across a website, search, paid acquisition, analytics or conversion. Daily multi-channel production needs a team.

Why is my website getting traffic but no enquiries?

Wrong intent, a page that does not answer the question, no easy way to make contact, or conversions happening invisibly. Check measurement first.

Freelancer, agency, or in-house for digital marketing in Nepal?

Consultant for judgement and direct access. Agency for several channels staffed at once. In-house when the workload is sustained.
